How to create and design a form
Set up your first popup form
1. Click Grow in the menu bar and go to Landing Pages and Forms.
2. Click Create New
3. Select Form.
4. Select Modal.
5. Choose a template. Pick something close to what you want to create. If you don’t have anything in mind yet, choose Charlotte.
Add content and design the popup
1. In the General styles tab, you can edit the background image, background color, and add custom CSS.
2. To add fields to the form, click on the plus icon and configure the form settings In the Custom Field tab.
3. To reorder the fields, hover over the fields and drag and drop the fields to reorder them.
5. Click on Built with Convertkit and uncheck the box in the side menu to remove the Conertkit badge.
Set up rules and add the popup to your site
Configure rules and timing
1. Click Settings
2. Edit the Success message.
3. if you want to redirect your subscribers to a custom success page, select Redirect to an external page and enter the URL for the page.
4. Now, you must decide which action triggers the popup. We recommend turning on Timing with a 5-second delay to turn interested visitors into subscribers or Exit intent to win back uninterested visitors.
You can make the trigger link triggered, this can be effective if you want to have a subscribe button on your website or page.
5. And finally, specify on which device this popup should be shown and how often a repeat visitor should see the popup. We recommend leaving the visibility and frequency settings as it is.
Edit confirmation email
1. From the settings, go to Incentive.
2. To keep your email list clean, it is recommended to have incentive email enabled.
3. To edit the content of the confirmation email, click Edit Email Contents and customize the email.
4. Enter the URL your subscribers should be redirected to once the email is confirmed. If you have a custom success page, enter the URL in the field, and If not, leave it as it is.
5. After configuring the settings, click Save.
6. Click Publish.
Add the popup to your wordpress site
1. Go to your WordPress dashboard and then navigate to Plugins. Install and activate the Convertkit wordpress plugin.
2. Follow the Setup wizard prompts.
3. Copy the provided shortcode for your form.
4. Add the shortcode to the footer element of your website to make it appear on all pages.
