How to import your contacts to MailerLite
Are you thinking about switching and migrating to MailerLite? If so, then this tutorial is for you!
We know that migrating to a new ESP can be a terrifying thought, especially if you are not a techy, so we made this tutorial to guide you on how to import your contacts to MailerLite.

Export your list
To import your list to MailerLite, you must first download your contact list from your previous email service provider as a CSV file.
Import contacts to Mailerlite
Now that you have downloaded the list, follow these steps to import your contacts to MailerLite.
1. Go to Subscribers.
2. Click Add subscribers.
3. Drag and drop the file you downloaded or click on the area to select a file.
4. Once you have selected the file, click Import subscribers.
Create a group
To classify your contacts and keep your account organized, you can use tags(groups) and segments.
(more classification in the next step)
1. To create a group, enter a name for the group and click Add a new group.
Match the fields
Now, you must match the fields to the correct attribute.
1. For example, If First name is the field label. It should be matched to Name from the Belongs to menu.
2. If the attribute is incorrect, choose the correct one from the menu.
3. If you wish to not import certain data Select Skip this column.
4. If you notice that one of the fields that you wish to import can not be found in the menu, you can create your own custom field by selecting A new text, number, or date field from the bottom of the menu.
5. Once you finish matching the fields, scroll down and select No, update only filled fields.
6. Click Finish Import.
