How to get started and migrate to Constant Contact

Create a Constant Contact account
(a) Start by clicking the link below to go to the Constant Contact website.
(b) Click Start trial
(c) Fill in all the required fields and click Get Started
(d) Click Go to my account
You will be taken to your Constant Contact dashboard. In the dashboard, you can see all the tools, manage your contacts, campaigns, etc.
Add your business address
It is mandatory to have your business address in your emails when sent through an ESP
(a) To add your business address, click on the dropdown arrow at the top right
(b) Click My Account
(c) Click Edit to add a business address
(d) Add the details required and click Save
Add a default sender’s email
Rather than adding a sender’s email in every campaign you create, you can add a default from email to save time and avoid mistakes.
We recommend using a professional email address to appear professional and increase deliverability.
(a) To add a default email address, click on the dropdown arrow and go to My Account
(b) Go to Account emails
(c) Click Add new email
(d) Enter your email address and click Add email
(e) Open the verification email you have received from Constant Contact and click Confirm Email address
- Once you click Verify email, your email address will be marked as verified
Add BrandKit
You can add BrandKit, which will be a base for your designs. Adding a Brandkit allows you to quickly design emails, landing pages, and sign-up forms that follow your brand guidelines.
(a) To add a BrandKit go to Account details
(b) Click Edit
(c) Add your Logo
- Add Brand colors
(d) Click Save
How to migrate to Constant Contact
If you have been using another email service provider, you must first import your contacts into Constant Contact in order to send them emails.
Download your list as a file
If you have been using another email service provider, you must import your contacts into ActiveCampaign in order to send them emails.
Import the file into Constant Contact
(a) Go to Contacts
(b) Click Add Contacts
(c) Click Upload from file
(d) Drag and drop or browse and upload the file you downloaded
Match the columns to the data
In this step, you must match the data from your list to the correct attribute in Constant Contact.
(a) If there is any incorrect matching, click the dropdown arrow and choose the correct attribute
(b) You can also create a custom attribute by selecting Create new custom field in the dropdown menu
(c) If you wish not to import certain data, select Skip column.
(d) Once you finish mapping data, click Continue
- Select the second option
(e) Click Next
(f) If your contact list meets the conditions, click Got it!
Add the contacts to a list
(a) First, you must confirm that you have Consent to email these contacts.
(b) To create a list for the contacts, click Create a new list
(c) Enter a name for the list, and click Create
(d) Select the list you created
(e) click Upload
